April 8, 2008 Annual Town Meeting
TOWN OF RICHMOND
ANNUAL MEETING
APRIL 8,
2008
The 2008 annual meeting for The Town of Richmond was called to order
by Chairman Bader at 7 p.m. on April 8, 2008.
There were 11 people in attendance in addition to the board, the
treasurer, and the clerk.
Randy Berenschott wondered about the difference in the amount
collected for liquor license fees from 2006 to 2007. Warren explained
it was because of the type of liquor license Randy Calleja had to take
out his first year, which was $10,000.00. He also questioned the
difference in WTA expense between 2006 and 2007, and the reason being
that the dues for both years were paid in one. Warren also explained
the value of belonging to the WTA.
Chairman Bader gave out burning permits to residents wanting them.
Randy also asked about insurance costs and these were explained to
him. Mary Kelly explained the reimbursement from the school districts
referencing the assessor error.
David Ray wondered about future costs for the landfill closure. We
don’t have concrete answers on what the balance of payments will be
for this.
David Ray wondered if we’re using any park fund moneys. If we have a
new park fee in the future, a percentage of this will be used to apply
to whatever use is made of it. Until Town of Richmond has some
ownership of Hatfield Park, we cannot contribute to it from our park
fund moneys.
David Naser moved to accept the annual report, seconded by Garrett
Van Dyk. Motion carried.
The next annual meeting will be the second Tuesday in April, the
14th, in 2009.
Randy brought up interest on money market accounts, and the changes
that have been made in the past year.
Fred Ball moved to adjourn, seconded by Richard Volkert. Motion
carried.
Respectfully submitted,
Donna Preece, Clerk
