June 29, 2010 Special Town Board Meeting
JUNE 29, 2010 SPECIAL BOARD MEETING Chairman Todd Rehnelt called the meeting to order at 6 p.m. as posted. Present were Chairman Rehnelt, Supervisors Knutson, Berquist, Naser, Volkert and Clerk Preece. The agenda was approved on a motion by Volkert/Berquist. Todd presented a breakdown on the bids received for the engineering services on 140th St. from Richmond Way South to Co. Rd. G. Berquist/Volkert moved to award the bid to Cooper Engineering of Rice Lake with the low bid of $16,495.00. Motion carried. A contract will be requested, reviewed by our town attorney, and on the agenda for approval at July 8 meeting. Todd reviewed the financial possibility of doing this project in 2010, except for the black topping. Perhaps 170th Ave. could be delayed until 2011. Naser moved to petition the county highway department to install 2 more stop signs at 140th St. and Co. Rd. GG, making it a 4 way stop. Motion seconded by Knutson and carried. The City of New Richmond will pay for the 2 signs if the town will maintain them. A discussion ensued on the O’Connell driveway off of 140th St. and the possibility of having it removed. The city recommends a foot of fill be added to the driveway off of Co. Rd. GG. Fire trucks would have to access these 3 properties from Co. Rd. GG. Todd will meet with the O’Connell and other people living off of this driveway and if they are interested in changing anything, he will bring it back to the board; otherwise, it will remain as it is.
